GYROKINESIS® is a complete movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. Although it’s connected to Yoga techniques this is an original and unique method, which coordinates movement, breath and enhances mental focus. Class starts sitting on a stool; the spine starts warming-up through simple and rhythmical moving patterns, expanding to all possible directions releasing hip, knees, hamstrings and upper body while specific breathing patterns stimulate the lymphatic system expanding lung capacity and promoting detoxification. The second part of the class is taking place on a mat, performing moving sequences that include rotations, articulation, hip-knee mobilisations and intense abdominal exercises that result to stretching and strengthening legs, lower back and most importantly all these deep level of muscles that affect posture and stabilise the spine (such as psoas muscles) while increasing range of motion of joins and spine.
